logic-to-contract coupling

The extent to which a service’s underlying logic is bound to its contract is referred to as logic-to-contract coupling.
This is considered a positive type of service coupling because the logic (and any implementation characteristics it may access or encapsulate) can form dependencies on the service contract without compromising service consumers.
However, this benefit is undermined when negative forms of service coupling make their way into the contract content.
Negative coupling types include the following:
• Contract-to-Logic Coupling
• Contract-to-Functional Coupling
• Contract-to-Implementation Coupling
• Contract-to-Technology Coupling
Service-oriented design processes promote logic-to-contract coupling by advocating a "contract first" design approach.
