context data (context data type)

Information that pertains to what has and is transpiring as part of a current service activity is referred to as context data.

Examples of context data include:

• the quantity of services currently participating in an activity

• which services are currently active and which were active in the service activity

• the duration of the service activity

• how many instances of the activity are currently in execution

• how much memory a service activity has and is currently consumer

Context data is one of two context data types, the other being context rules. Context data types are of relevance to the application of the Service Statelessness design principle.
