service capability candidate

When carrying out the service modeling sub-process of the service-oriented analysis stage, business process logic is decomposed into individual actions that are grouped together into proposed functional contexts that form the basis for service candidates. Some of these actions further establish service capability candidates.

Later, after refinements that occur as a result of iterations through the service-oriented analysis cycle, the resulting set of service candidates and service capability candidates form the starting point for the physical service contract designs that are produced by the service-oriented design process.

When carrying out the service modeling process, service capability candidates are modeled together with service candidates and service composition candidates.

A service capability candidate is also known as a service operation candidate.
